Happy World Standards Day 2023
Message of the President of Iran National Standards Organization (INSO) to the Heads of the Standards Organizations on the occasion of the 2023 World Standards Day
With increasing globalization, we are living in a world, which is full of complex, unforeseen, and new challenges, and international standards have become the key to overcoming such challenges.
There are more than 50 international standards bodies developing and publishing standards. Among them, are the three prominent bodies dealing with product and service-related standards including ISO, IEC, and ITU. Most of the standards developed by these organizations deal with safety and health, management systems, IT, and other areas of the chain of evolutional changes.
In this journey, fair technical regulations should be harmonized across countries. Using international standards, as the basis will help to overcome these problems and reach the goals of sustainable development, bringing compatibility across the countries particularly facilitating the adoption of digital health technologies, research and development, manufacturing, trade, quality, and environmental protection. International standards provide common specifications and requirements for products, services, processes, and systems that apply to all countries.
Now, on World Standards Day, I am pleased to inform you the Iran National Standards Organization (INSO) will celebrate its 100th anniversary of establishment. Therefore, let me emphasize our individual commitment and joint intention for fair cooperation towards “a shared vision for a better world” for all.
